Context

A dynamic catalogue required a systematic SEO approach

The inventory of new and used cars changed regularly: new listings appeared, sold vehicles became outdated, and duplicate names created a risk of duplicate URLs.

We needed to improve organic visibility and page speed while building a reliable process for creating, updating, and redirecting listing pages.

  • Organic traffic growth
  • Automated catalogue population
  • A reliable URL lifecycle
  • Page speed optimisation

Solution

We combined SEO, development, and automation

Instead of isolated improvements, the team built a connected system in which auction data, vehicle listings, and SEO rules work together.

  1. SEO and backlink profile

We improved the site's technical foundation and built a natural backlink profile through guest posts, outreach, and community links.

    • Technical SEO optimisation
    • High-volume keyword optimisation
    • Systematic backlink profile growth
  2. Catalogue automation

We developed two parsers and integrated them with the WordPress API so listing pages could be created and updated automatically on schedule.

    • Two automated parsers
    • Batch data processing
    • Creating and updating listings via API
  3. URLs and redirects

We configured rules for sold listings, repeated names, and outdated pages so the catalogue would not accumulate duplicates or incorrect redirects.

    • Automated 301 redirect handling
    • Invalid redirect cleanup
    • Unique URLs for duplicate names
  4. PageSpeed optimisation

We optimised load speed and the server environment. On the pages tested after the work, the desktop PageSpeed score reached 94-99 points.

How the system works

From a new listing to a valid page

The automation runs on schedule, reads the current list of vehicles, and identifies new, changed, and sold listings.

Data is sent to WordPress in batches of ten pages at five-minute intervals. For each item, the system decides whether to create a page, update an existing one, or apply a redirect.

  1. Data collection

Two parsers collect current listings from external auction sources.

  2. Status check

The system identifies new, changed, and outdated listings and checks existing URLs and redirects.

  3. Catalogue update

The WordPress API creates or updates listing pages, while unique addresses are generated for duplicate names.

  4. SEO control

Sold listings receive the correct 301 redirects, while invalid rules are removed automatically.

Greater visibility and a manageable catalogue

The verified outcomes cover organic traffic, rankings for high-volume queries, automation, and the speed of the pages tested.
